The NKBA
The NKBA is the National Kitchen and Bath Association and is a non-profit trade group that promotes professionalism in the kitchen and bath design industry. They have lists of guidelines that designers follow when designing residential kitchens and bathrooms.

ASID
ASID is the American Society of Interior Designers and has regions all over America. The ASID is a collaboration of designers focused on the importance of interior design and the impact on human life that interior design provides.
IIDA
IIDA is the International Interior Design Association, it is a commercial design association. It advocates “…for advancements in education, design excellence, legislation, leadership, accreditation, and community outreach to increase the value and understanding of Interior Design as a profession that enhances business value and positively impacts the health and well-being of people’s lives every day.”
